Joseph Bernard Germain, 73, of Idyllwild, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Germain was born Nov. 2, 1928, in Minneapolis. He was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class from the U.S. Navy. Mr. Germain worked for 42 years as a bricklayer for BAC Local 4.

He had been a resident of Idyllwild for 11 years and provided honor guard services at Riverside National Cemetery, the American Legion and the Lions Club.

Graveside services are at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at Riverside National Cemetery, Stage No. 4, in Riverside.

Mr. Germain is survived by his wife, Beverley, of Idyllwild; three daughters, Lynette Bell of Parkland, Fla., Laura Jennings of Show Low, Ariz. and Christina Niskanen of Albany, Ore.; three sons, Mark Germain of Riverside, Tim Fisher of Las Vegas and Lawrence Fisher of Albany, Ore.; a brother, Lawrence Germain of Bellflower; a sister, Ruth Prettner of Mabelwood, Minn.; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ramona VNA Hospice.
