Larry Leroy Keelin, 60, of Idyllwild, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Hemet Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Keelin was born July 29, 1941, in Huron, S.D. He graduated from South Dakota State University of Brookings, S.D., with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He was in the heating and air conditioning business for more than 27 years. He worked six years for Trane Heating and Air Conditioning and six years for Lenox Heating and Air Conditioning, both in Los Angeles.

He owned and operated his own business, Smith Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning in Costa Mesa, for five years. For 10 years, he worked for Kinney Air Conditioning in Anaheim.

For the past 11 years, he worked with the Wycliffe Bible Translators at Tahquitz Pines Conference Center. He was the facility director.

He was a member of the Rotary Club of Idyllwild and loved to play golf.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 at Morris Hall in the Tahquitz Pines Conference Center in Idyllwild.

Miller-Jones Mortuary and Cremations in Hemet is handling arrangements. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Keelin is survived by his wife of 39 years, Terry Keelin of Idyllwild; his parents, Earl and Rosalie Keelin of Huron, S.D.; a son, Tad Keelin of Laguna Beach; a daughter, Kristine Black of Greenville, S.C.; a brother, Donald Keelin of Fargo, N.D.; and a sister, Rita Nelson of Miller, S.D.
