The creative and talented Virginia A. Lane, born in Marshall, Iowa on July 22, 1940, passed from this life on Oct. 4, 2010, in Hemet, Calif.

Virginia made her home in Idyllwild for the past 11 years, after living in Redondo Beach for over 20 years.

She was an artist known for her paintings and sculptures as well as her custom tile, jewelry, and faux finish designs. As a general contractor, she designed and implemented interiors for office buildings’ central lobbies, restaurants, nightclubs and custom homes.

She deeply loved the beach, the mountains, her many friends and, most of all, her precious pets.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Hemet Valley Mortuary, 403 N. San Jacinto Street in Hemet.

While flowers are appreciated, the family suggests donations be made in Virginia’s name to Animal Rescue Friends (ARF) in Idyllwild, the Stroke Recover Center in Palm Springs or The Associates of Idyllwild Arts Foundation.
