Marsha was born in New York, N.Y. on July 1, 1931 to Marshall and Edna Monroe. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.
She was a loving wife to her first husband, Karl L. Davis, Jr., and devoted mother to their four children. She worked as an art gallery owner. She lived in various places throughout her life, and was a resident of Idyllwild from 1972 to 2005. She was a former member of the Fern Valley Water District board and the Sierra Club, and was affiliated with numerous museums and cultural organizations.
Marsha was predeceased by her first and second husbands, Karl L. Davis, Jr. and Sueo Serisawa, respectively. She is survived by her children, Steven Davis of Foothill Ranch, Calif.; Judson Davis of Idyllwild; Katerine Davis of San Diego; and Clifford Davis of Bangkok, Thailand; a sister, Elna Monroe of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Jessica Davis of Foothill Ranch.
Marsha’s life was characterized by honesty, integrity and a deep concern for other people. She was a lover of nature, art and aesthetics. A long-term resident, she always considered Idyllwild her spiritual home. She is with us still and always, riding on the wind in the pines.
