Hemet Unified School District Superintendent Steven Lowder is apparently being pursued as the new superintendent for Stockton Unified School District, according to the Stockton Record.

Lowder left Lincoln Unified School District in the Stockton area to come to Hemet in 2010.

He had applied for the Stockton position in the past, prior to coming to HUSD. SUSD had recently been negotiating with another candidate, but the Stockton Record reported on Friday that the negotiations had broken down.

The Record reported that the SUSD board was going to offer Lowder a contract, having apparently made that decision at a special board meeting Friday evening.

Neither Lowder nor Sara L. Cazares, President of SUSD, have returned phone calls placed by the Town Crier.
