Town Hall Sports Coordinator Jeremy Teeguarden reported on Town Hall Adult Softball for the week of July 9.

For the fifth consecutive year, the opening game of the season matched Pacific Slope Tree Co. and Ajax. Pacific Slope got their bats going in the fourth inning with Jody Posey’s home run. Ajax’s bats never got going as Pacific Slope won the game 11-0.

On Tuesday, July 10, Creekstone Inn, the defending champion, took on Café Aroma. The game was close for the first few innings as each team put a few runs on the board. Dawn Sonnier had a few great hits for Creekstone Inn as they pulled away in the later innings and won 11-6.

Wednesday’s game was between Forest Lumber and Team Patty Perez. It was the first ever game for team Perez. Forest Lumber came out swinging and hit the ball all over the field. Kendra Wines and Jeremy Potter each scored three runs as Forest Lumber went on to a big win 25-4.

On Thursday, July 12, Café Aroma faced Pacific Slope Tree Co. who took the lead immediately in the first inning as Justin Lehr scored one of his two runs in the game. Café Aroma struggled hitting as Pacific Slope won 13-0 for their second straight shutout.

On Friday, Creekstone Inn played Ajax. Both teams struggled early to put runs on the score board. Creekstone Inn’s Josh White scored three runs as they took a late lead. In the final at-bat, Ajax mounted a come back when Janey Espinoza got a key hit and came around to score. Creekstone got a key out at third base and held on to win a close game 10-9.

On Saturday, July 14, the season’s first week closed with Creekstone Inn meeting Team Patty Perez, who took a 3-2 lead in the third inning when Kadeem Perez came around to score. Creekstone Inn’s bats began making contact and Kelly Cochrane scored twice. Creekstone Inn won 12-3.
