I support the Idyllwild Water District in its mission and goal of maintaining sustainability for its water and sewer service to all of its customers, including the Idyllwild Arts Foundation.

The district makes clear that a prerequisite for a stable water supply for all its customers is a new 300,000-gallon reservoir to be fully operational before any will-serve letters can be issued to the foundation.

The district and foundation are in the process of exchanging information on the water supply needs for the foundation’s master plan at full build-out.

I support the district’s position that no will-serve letters will be issued to the foundation until at least the 300,000-gallon reservoir is fully operational, the water needs of the master plan are known, and the district has determined it can maintain sustainability for all its water and sewer customers during the next decades of global warming and expected drought.
