A magnitude 3.9 earthquake occurred about 12:45 a.m. this morning (Oct. 28). The epicenter was located about 6 miles) southeast of Valle Vista and 7 miles west southwest from Idyllwild.

Homes in Idyllwild did shake. No notices of damage or harm have been received yet.

  1. It was brief. Felt like someone crashed a car into a lamppost.
    Funny I was telling my wife earlier about the Tahquitz demon mythology when thunder or quake rumble the mountain. Then the quake wokes us up, she asked if it was a quake, I replied that it was the damn Tahquitz demon.
