Several Idyllwild Chamber of Commerce directors and community members attended the brief monthly public meeting of the Chamber. The only business considered was a report from Phyllis Mueller, chair of Idyllwild’s 52nd annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, “An Olde Fashioned Christmas.”

Current Chamber President Chris Titus announced that Lanny Hardy, former Chamber director and vice president, had submitted his resignation. Hardy and wife Lorraine had recently closed their Creek House Restaurant business.

Mueller presented the full-color program that will be available at the festival, which will be 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, and at local businesses. “We’ve passed out over 1,000,” she said.

She also showed decorated donor cans that will also be distributed at village business locations and passed around during the festival.

“Money has been coming in,” Mueller said, and noted that budget for this year’s festival has been made, “but I feel we should fundraise until the end [to seed next year’s festival].

“We’ve done a massive amount of promotion,” she said and observed that some CEO’s from her own marketing and distribution list would be attending with their dogs. “I did the outreach for Mayor Max. I’ve never marketed as a dog before [Mueller and husband Glenn Warren run a successful marketing firm, Mueller Worldwide Inc.].”
