According to CHP Officer Brian King, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a male rider (left) was on his Harley Davidson motorcycle heading West on Hwy. 74 near mile marker 55. As he rounded the turn, he crossed over the double yellow line colliding head on with a Dodge truck that was traveling East on Hwy 74. The 2 occupants in the truck (sitting, right) had minor injuries and were not transported to the hospital. The motorcycle rider was transported by AMR to a landing zone east of the collision scene on Hwy. 74 where he was transferred to Mercy Air. He was air lifted to a nearby hospital with major injuries. Hwy. 74 was completely closed to traffic for approximately 1 hour while the scene was cleared.
