Approximately 66,000 vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed to voters starting Monday (July 29) for the Rancho California Water District and Idyllwild Fire Protection District mail ballot election on August 27. Ballots should arrive in mailboxes by the end of the week. To be counted, the Registrar of Voters office must receive the voted ballots by 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The August 27 election is not a countywide election. It is also an all mail ballot election, so there will be no established polling places.

Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned through the postal service or deposited in the 24-hour drop box located outside the main entrance of the registrar’s office at 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside.

Early voting at the Registrar of Voters office begins Monday, July 29 and runs through Tuesday, Aug. 27, Monday through Friday (excluding county holidays), from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., On Election Day, Aug. 27 the hours are from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
