The name of the company is “Leg Up Theatre Company” and it is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. The plan is for the theater company to perform three plays a year, each with a different charitable beneficiary. “We’re planning a New Year’s Eve fundraiser with a ‘Midnight in Paris’ theme. The location will be at a private home, and it is going to be a lot of fun. I like talking about parties,” laughs Christina. “We want everyone in the community to be involved.”

An informational meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at St. Hugh’s Episcopal Church. Whether you have acted in the past or are just interested in learning the craft, the classes will teach you the basics of acting with a class offered every other week.
O’Farrell, who has spent many years in the entertainment industry, will teach the classes. An accomplished stage, screen and television actor with roles in the HBO series “The Pacific,” “True Blood,” “Castle” and many others, O’Farrell is excited to take on the role of teacher. “It’s for people in town that want to learn how to [act], want to learn the language, and know how to begin to analyze text and create a character. It makes the process of putting on a play go so much quicker because [with untrained actors] you’re not only rehearsing the play, you’re teaching them how to act at the same time. The classes will give us a ‘leg up,’” O’Farrell said with a smile.
For more information, email Nordella at firstname.lastname@example.org.
