Town Hall Kids Basketball Town Hall Sports Coordinator Richard Mozeleski gave this report: In the only game this week in the kindergarten to third-grade division, the Wildcats and the Red Ninjas battled a close game with the Wildcats prevailing by 1 point, 11-10. The Wildcats rode Brody Posey’s game-high 10 points to overcome the inside game of Geneva Dagnall’s 6 points and Cole Sonnier’s 4. The Ninjas led the first three quarters 10-7, but Brody’s 2 hoops in the fourth quarter pulled the Cats ahead to stay and secure the win. In fourth- to six-grade action, the Celtics — playing without an ill Ben Tiso — found themselves overwhelmed by the late-season surging Lightning. The Lightning’s tough defense held the Celtics to 4 points all game, and the stronger team came up with its own barrage of 17 points in three quarters. Cody Fogle’s 8 points and Madison Collis’ 6 were enough to secure the win. The playoffs will now follow and by the time of this printing the preliminary rounds will have begun on Tuesday, culminating Thursday, with finals on Friday at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the school gym.   Standings as of March 10 Wins Losses Ties K-3 Barracudas 5 3 1 Wildcats 4 3 3 Red Ninjas 3 6 2   Wins Losses 4-6 Celtics 7 3 Blue Thunder 6 4 Bulls 3 7 Lightning 4 6

Ginger Dagnall, volleyball coordinator, gave this report on last week’s playoff volleyball games: So we have a winner for the 2014 Idyllwild Coed Volleyball League. Idyllwild Garage takes it home for the fourth year in a row, winning the season-ending playoffs. A very close second place goes to Idyllwild Inn which had the best record for the season. And third place goes to Silver Pines. Now the youth volleyball gets geared up to start March 17 for skills and practice. We need more kids to sign up soon.
