Here’s what’s going on at the library this coming week:

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays, April 23 and 30, Maria Reyes teaches her weekly Spanish language class for home-schoolers. The whole community is welcome.

Also on Wednesday, April 23, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Saffron presents art projects for children ages 6 to 9. Pre-registration is required. Call 951-541-6056.

From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 24, the Idyllwild Area Historical Preservation Review Board meets. The public is welcome.

Also on Thursday, from 1 to 2 p.m., the library staff will provide quick answers to basic computer questions. Call 951-659-2300 if you need to schedule extended time for your questions. (The library staff is available anytime to help you use the library’s bank of public computers.)

From 1 to 3 p.m. also on Thursday, Julie Johnson hosts Teen Book Club for home-schoolers. For more information, call 659-9793.

Again on Thursday, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., all women are welcome to join the women of the Idyllwild Bible Church for Bible Study.

Lastly on Thursday, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., the Forest Folk will present “Idyllwild Elders,” a discussion about organizing our community so elders may stay on the Hill longer. Come get involved to make our community a great place to grow old and ensure that vital local wisdom passes down through the generations.

On Friday, April 25, from noon to 1 p.m. County Supervisor Jeff Stone will be on hand for his quarterly meeting with individual organizations and the public. Appointments are not required but are preferred. Call 951-955-1030.

Saturday, April 26, the Mile High Radio Club continues with its series of four weekly classes open to adults and teens. The class from 10 to 11 a.m. is for those with Technician licenses who would like to upgrade their class. The class from 11 a.m. to noon is the beginning class for those interested in acquiring an FCC Ham radio license. The final exam is from noon to 4 p.m. and the examination fee of $15 is due at that time. Call Tom Pierce at 951-808-3632.

From 10 a.m. to noon Monday, April 28, the Forest Folk Cribbage Group meets for weekly fun and games. All adults are welcome.

Also on Monday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Miss Susan and librarian Shannon Ng host children’s story time, where preschoolers and children of all ages are treated to one of our library’s talented storytellers with an associated craft. This week’s theme is “The Day of Books.”

Also on Wednesday, April 30, from 2 to 3 p.m., Idyllwild Library’s monthly book club will meet. This month’s reading choice is Carlos Ruiz Zafron’s “Shadow of the Wind.” All interested readers are welcome.
