There was a time when the Lemon Lily grew in abundance in the stream beds and shaded areas in Idyllwild. The lilies were so popular they were dug up by the thousands, which eventually drove the beautiful flowers to near extinction. This two-day festival, with a launch the prior evening, allows the Lemon Lily Committee to continue its restoration efforts while offering the public a weekend of family fun, entertainment and education.
The Lemon Lily Festival which takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, and kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, July 11, with a Taste of Idyllwild at the home of Erin O’Neill, promising an evening of music, food and drinks and a garden tour.
