California Highway Patrol Officer M.J. Murawski investigates the scene of a one-vehicle rollover on Highway 74 about 1-1/2 miles west of Highway 243 Wednesday afternoon. Nichole Hutton Darling, 32, of Idyllwild, was traveling eastbound on Highway 74 just before 3 p.m. in a 1989 red Jeep Cherokee when she apparently dozed off, according to Murawski. The vehicle hit the side of the mountain and rolled over once. No passengers were in the Jeep and no other vehicles were involved. American Medical Response transported Hutton to Inland Valley Medical Center after she complained of pain to her left forearm, back and neck. Engines from Idyllwild Fire and Cal Fire in Garner Valley also responded. “I am doing OK,” Darling said. “I am in a lot more pain today [Thursday] than yesterday, which is to be expected, but other than that I am good.” Photo by Becky Clark
