Brendan Steele has made the cut and played on weekends in all three of his tournaments in this young 2014-15 PGA Tour season. Last week he shot an even-par 69-73-72-74 — 288 to tie for 61st at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi.

The Idyllwild native seemed to have trouble with his putter, losing 4.125 strokes to the field on the week. But his long-distance play was excellent, gaining him 1.952 strokes against the field, tee to green.

He picked up $8,500 in official earnings, bringing his early-season total to more than $101,000, and he earned seven FedExCup points, giving him 89 on the season and putting him in 72nd place on the points list.

This week, Steele tees it up at the $6.1 million OHL Classic at Mayakoba, held on the El Camaleon course at Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
