At its Nov. 24 meeting, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors authorized the county’s Recorder office to be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Fridays of Dec. 26, 2014 and Jan. 2, 2015.

For other county agencies, these days will remain holidays.

This action enables the county to collect $1 for recorded documents when the Recorder is open every business day except legal or judicial holidays. These two Fridays are neither. County agencies will be closed pursuant to Board Resolution 2009-295.

The same step was taken in 2012.

The cost to remain open two extra days is about $25,000 and affects 42 employees of the office.
