The Riverside County Department of Transportation and Land Management has proposed establishing a speed limit on Double View Drive. A 25-mph limit, which could be enforced with the use of radar, would be in effect from McMahon Road to the end of Double View, about 1.6 miles.

This limit would be new. Although the county report states, “There is no speed limit currently posted on this stretch of Double View Dr.,” a 25-mph limit is posted at the beginning of McMahon and two on Double View, about 100 feet in both directions from its intersection with Meadow Glen Drive.

The department conducted traffic surveys on the county-maintained road in summer 2014. According to the memorandum to the Board of Supervisors, who was asked to approve the limit at its April 7 meeting, “the majority of the motorists are already driving at or below the recommended speed limits.”
