Actually, this is more than just a letter to the editor, it is one more to the powers-that-be in Idyllwild. Are you listening, Mayor Max?

I live here in the Idyllwild/Pine Cove area and own an electric car. I have to admit, I love the car and encourage everyone to consider getting one. In fact, I have consistently seen at least one or two other electric cars around Idyllwild and so I know I am not alone.

Additionally, I am beginning to see more and more of them show up on the weekends so I know that more and more visitors to Idyllwild are using their electric cars to come visit our fair area.

Because I live here, I have a level 2 (240 volt) charger at my home and so can recharge when needed. However, people visiting here with an electric car don’t have that option, but should.

I think it would be great and really show our area’s support for getting us off the foreign-oil diet, if Idyllwild would install several level 2 charging stations for our electric-car visitors. I know I would appreciate it and even visit more if I was assured of recharging my car when I arrived at my destination.

There are a variety of options to consider, from free to charging a modest fee. So, if the powers to be would consider this, I think making Idyllwild an electric car-friendly town would be great.
