marathonOn Sunday, Nov. 15,  four Idyllwild residents raced in the Geico Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in Las Vegas with about 50,000 runners. Danielle McKnight, an Idyllwild native, has been selected for U.S. Navy Flight School after her Graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, next May.

Danielle graduated from Idyllwild School and Hemet High High School before being nominated and accepted as a midshipman at the Naval Academy in 2012.

Her mother, Kathy Kent, still resides in Pine Cove. Her father, Ken McKnight, was a long-time resident of Idyllwild and now resides in Seattle, Washington.

Her grandparents, Pat and Jim Kent, were 30-year Idyllwild residents until Pat passed away in 2013. Jim now resides in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, although he still owns property in Pine Cove.
