Last week in “The Days of Our Nine Lives,” Rocky the Maltepoo introduced himself to the ARF felines.
Bill: Geez, Rocky didn’t stay around long. He introduced himself and then poof, he was gone.
Olivia: Just like some of the others, he found a better gig with a forever family.
Bill: I keep counting the days until my chance comes. I just need a family who will be patient with me.
Olivia: Me, too. But I want some humans who’ll want to play with me. (Looking through the window into the ARF office.) Hey, who are those guys?
Bill: Where?
Olivia: Out there, in the office.
Bill: More dogs? Are you kidding?
Olivia: (calling out to the dogs) Hey. Yea, you, Fido. Who are you?
Blue: Me? I’m Blue, an awesome terrier-mix.
Bill: Well, hello, Blue, an awesome terrier-mix. Who are your friends?
Blue: The larger Chihuahua is MJ. And the smaller one is her daughter, Coco. Hey, girls, say hello to the cats.
Coco: (rather shy) Hello, cats.
MJ: Hello, cats. You’ll have to pardon my daughter and me if we seem shy. We’ve had a difficult few days and just need to get settled. We’ll see the doctor later this week so we may join a forever family very soon.
Olivia: We understand, MJ. We’ve all been through some tough times. Welcome to ARF.
MJ: Thank you. Are there any children here? Both Coco and I like children, and we also like other dogs.
Olivia: The only other dog is Blue, but we often have children visit us here at ARF.
Blue: Great. I like children, too. And I’d be happy to play with you both. I like to play with my fellow canines.
