Pine Cove resident Aric Anderson, coach of the Chapman University Panthers collegiate club volleyball team, brought home a silver medal for placing second in Men’s Division II at the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation tournament in Louisville, Kentucky, earlier this month.

The Panthers had only eight players on their tournament roster, yet defeated teams with much more bench strength, related Anderson. The Panthers’ sole loss was in a third-game tie breaker in the gold medal match against defending champion Messiah College. Three Panthers were named to the All Tournament Team: Taylor Braun, Ben Gelaris and Justin Parks
