Robert Lewis, Town Hall director, gave this report for Youth Baseball in recent weeks.

T-Ball League:

Tuesday, May 17, Ruby Adams hit the ball hard a couple times for the Padres. Miles Seachrest of the Tigers also hit the ball well and ran the bases fast.

Friday, May 20, Piper Pritchett of the Tigers played good defense and had some good hits. Kylee Rocha of the Padres ran the bases well and played good defense, as well.

Saturday, May 21, Ethan Caster ripped the ball for a couple of base hits for the Padres. Caden Myer played good defense and also hit the ball well for the Tigers.

Minor League:

Monday, May 16, had the Astros visiting the Giants. Jaysen Arreola hit the ball hard and got on base for the Giants, but Boston Hamblin played a great game for the Astros with a couple of big base hits and drove in 4 runs as the Astros won a thriller 12-10.

The Dodgers played the Angels in the second game. Indigo Dagnall played very well at first base and made a couple of hits for the Dodgers. Hunter Nuñez had a big game for the Angels hitting the ball very hard and driving in a run, but it wasn’t enough as the Dodgers beat the Angels by a scoring eight runs.

On Thursday, May 19, the first game matchup had the Angels playing the Giants. Andrea Lopez made a couple of hits for the Angels. Ashlyn Wilkerson made her first hit of the season for the Giants as the Giants went on to beat the Angels by a score of 6-0.

The second game had the Astros at home against the Dodgers. Chloe Mejia played a good game hitting the ball hard and got on base for the Dodgers. However, Emily Brosterhaus  made a couple of good hits and an incredible grab as catcher to end the game as the Astros gave the Dodgers their first defeat of the season 7-0.

Saturday, May 21, had the Angels visiting the red-hot Astros. Rory Jensen made a couple of hits for the Astros. Quintin Hoggan played very well at third base and got a base hit for the Angels, but fell short at the end by a score of 6-1.

In the second game, the Giants hosted the Dodgers in the best game of the season so far. Griffen Kretsinger played stellar first base and had a couple of big hits and 3 RBIs for the Dodgers. Meanwhile, Finn Carpenter played an incredible game with 3 home runs, including a grand slam and 10 RBIs for the Giants as they out-slugged the Dodgers by a score of 13-12.

Major League:

Tuesday, May 17, had the Mariners playing the Marlins. Isaac Atilano and Manuel Guzman pitched well for both teams not giving up any hits, but walks were a real factor in this game as the Marlins beat the Mariners 5-3.

Friday, May 20, the Angels visited the Marlins. Brodey Posy pitched very well and added 2 RBIs with a base hit for the Angels. Manuel Guzman pitched well for the Marlins but it wasn’t enough as the Angels stayed unbeaten with a 5-1 victory over the Marlins.

Saturday, May 21, had the Mariners and Marlins playing a doubleheader due to a game that had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather. Thanks to Jossylnn McLean for playing a good game for the Mariners, they won their first game of the season beating the Marlins 6-5. In the second game, Alexis Perez pitched well and ripped a 2-run home run for the Marlins as they beat the Mariners 3-1.
