Riverside County Superior Court Judge Mark Mandio has suspended the arson prosecution of Traci Farley, 52, of Pinyon. She was charged with 13 counts of arson in June.

Based on his review of two separate doctors’ reports and evaluations, the judge decided that Farley is not competent to stand trial. On Wednesday, Aug. 31, he referred the situation to the county’s mental health agency for a recommendation on Farley’s placement.

The case will return to the court on Sept. 14.

Farley is still in custody, without bail.

When Farley was arrested, John Hall, District Attorney public information specialist, wrote, “She is charged with 13 separate small arson fires all lit on or around the same day. All started at different spots relatively close to each other, near her house. As charged, we believe the evidence shows 12 of the fires were brush/forest land and one of the fires was a neighbor’s fence.”
