Sky Island Natural Foods, in Strawberry Plaza, is hosting an artists’ reception featuring the work of Irena Carlson and Lisa Coffaro.
Carlson and Coffaro are Idyllwild artists who both work in bold colors although in different media. Carlson, who has lived in Turkey, France and New Zealand works in painting, photography and collage, with an emphasis on the interplay of art and spirituality. Coffaro creates in varied media, including stained glass, jewelry, beaded embroidery and blank art cards.
The event is free to the public and runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 with vegan hors d’oeuvres by the Chef Kelly Johnston-Gibson of the Plant Food Supper Club, kombucha on tap and live music by Larry Spector.
