County Service Area 36 Advisory Committee, which oversees parcel-tax funded recreation and street lamps in Idyllwild, has two vacancies. Opal Hellweg, 3rd District Supervisor Chuck Washington’s legislative assistant, confirmed that vacancies will be filled in time for the next scheduled meeting — 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at Town Hall.

Four people have applied for the two open seats: Ted Janka, Sue Nash, Mark Garrett and Peter Szabadi. “All applicants have been interviewed,” said Hellweg. “Interviews went well.”

Hellweg will present the results of interviews to Washington. Washington will make the selection and the two names will be placed on the Board of Supervisors’ calendar for appointment — either on Tuesday, March 14 or 21.
