“Landscapes of the Mind” is the intended inspiration for artists entering the “Eye of the Artist” juried competition, an annual Art Alliance of Idyllwild event.

From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, participating artists’ work will be featured in a show at the Idyllwild Area Historical Society Museum. The Eye event also includes a silent auction and raffle of donated themed art.

The show will be judged by Pasadena-based artist N.S. David whose fantasy-based paintings have proven popular with collectors. David is currently working on a series exploring ideas of “contemporary masculinity, examining the friction between the natural, individual, and self, and the cages of popular narrative that society has built to escape full, existential liberty.”

Popular Native American musician, flutist and singer Carlos Reynosa provides musical inspiration for attendees during the show.

There is no charge to attend this event. This is an AAI fundraiser and all proceeds from the silent auction and raffle help AAI produce future art events, fund art education programs and help promote Idyllwild as an art destination.
