One rollover crash, with an arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence, took place on Hill roads over the last week.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, Shawn Heutmaker, 30, of Escondido, was driving his white 2000 Toyota Tacoma truck eastbound on Highway 74, 2 miles east of the intersection with Highway 371 when he allowed his vehicle to drift off the road and hit a dirt embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn. Heutmaker was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI.

He complained of pain and was transported by American Medical Response to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. There were no passengers in Heutmaker’s truck and no other vehicles were involved in the incident, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Edward Nunez’s reading of the responding officer’s report.
