Brendan Steele had rough going at the PGA Championship last week in Charlotte, North Carolina. He managed only a 74-76 — 150, missing the Friday-night cut by 3 strokes. The Idyllwild native’s drives found only 57 percent of the fairways, and he hit only two-thirds of the greens in regulation. Still, he gained 2.59 strokes on the field tee-to-green. But play around and on the greens was not friendly; he dropped 4.25 strokes against the field putting.

Brendan is taking this week off to ready himself for the four season-ending playoff tournaments that begin with next week’s $8.75 million The Northern Trust played on the Glen Oaks Club course in Old Westbury, New York.
