Last week in “Days of Our Nine Lives,” ARF cats talked about Taz, the newest ARF dog.

Taz

Little Girl: So, we have another new dog.

Sadie: Taz? You told us about the little guy last week.

Sadie

Little Girl: Right, but there is another. Oh!  Here he is!

Al: Hi! I’m the new guy. You can call me Al.

Little Girl: Welcome, Al. What’s your story?

Al: I’ve been running the roads of this little town and sadly, no one has come looking for me, so ARF has given me a temporary home.

Indigo: I’m sorry to hear about your situation. You’re lucky to be with a foster.

Al: True, but he can keep me for only a week, so I’d better get adopted fast!

Little Girl: What kind of dog are you?

Indigo

Al: Good question. I think I’m maybe part chocolate Labrador and something else that gives me this fuzzy face. I’m told I’m cute. I’m about 3 years old, have lots of energy and love people. Dogs are good, too.

Pepper

Little Girl: You need to find a forever human who will take you on hikes.

Pepper: Unlike Taz. I think he prefers someone’s lap.

Taz: (enters room) You talking about me?

Mr. Gray: We were! Do you want to go on hikes?

Taz: Not so much. I’m 10 years old, for goodness sake. Just give me a loving home, with or without dogs and cats, and I’ll be very happy.

Little Girl: By the way, we also have a new feline family member, Sedona.

Indigo: I saw her! She is a beautiful tortoise shell, but she’s kinda chunky, ya know?

Little Girl: That’s because she is pregnant! She should have her babies any day now.  I’m so excited.

Indigo: Yay! Kittens bring in lots of humans.

Little Girl: You know it!
