The pile and broadcast burns on Thomas Mountain were completed yesterday. Over three days, the U.S. Forest Service burned about 570 acres, according to Zach Behrens, public information officer for the San Bernardino National Forest.

In January, the Forest Service burned 200 acres. No further burning is planned for this year in this area.

“We will now go into patrol status; smoke and flame may continue to be visible for a few days,” Behrens advised.
