On Wednesday, April 4, at about 5:15 p.m., Dustin Blair, a 40-year-old man from Mira Loma, was riding a copper-colored 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 74, just east of Ribbonwood Drive in Mountain Center.

The collision occurred near the unincorporated community of Pinyon Pines.

Christopher Fife, 46, of Mountain Center, was driving a white 2004 Toyota Sienna van westbound on Highway 74. As the motorcycle rider was negotiating a sweeping right-hand curve in the roadway, he lost control and crossed over the double-yellow lines, directly into the path of the westbound Toyota.

The front of the Toyota collided with the motorcycle. The rider was ejected from his seat onto the roadway surface and suffered fatal injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs have not been ruled out as contributing factors in the cause of this collision. No other vehicles were involved in the collision. The incident is being investigated by California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Murawski.
