A solo-vehicle, non-injury collision occurred Saturday afternoon on Highway 74 just east of Apple Canyon Road, blocking the eastbound lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At 3:26 p.m. Saturday, April 21, a white 2003 Nissan Frontier driven by Joel Hernandez, 53, of Rialto, was driving east when the vehicle rolled due to an unsafe turning movement; he was not injured. The car was towed to Idyllwild Garage.

Hernandez was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and remanded to Larry D. Smith county jail in Banning.

No injuries occurred in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 74 Sunday, 1 mile west of McCall Park Road, involving a white 2017 Nissan Sentra car driven by Justin Ross, 23, of San Jacinto. The second vehicle involved a silver 2015 Ford F-150 driven by David Trujillo, 41, of Idyllwild.

Both drivers were traveling east at 10:50 a.m. on Highway 74 when they collided. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage yet were driven from the scene with no injuries reported.
