Brian Standish, 50, of Idyllwild, was arrested in April 2017 for grand theft greater than $950. On March 6, nearly a year later, he pleaded guilty to the felony charge.
However, he did not appear in court for sentencing as scheduled for April 6. He was present at an April 17 court date, but Riverside County Superior Court Judge Emma C. Smith had him removed from the courtroom and re-scheduled the sentencing appearance for April 30.
While Standish is currently in custody, the bail has been set at $500,000. The crime apparently was committed in December 2014.
