The protest hearing on the proposed elimination of County Service Area 60 (Pinyon Pines and Pinyon Flats) attracted no speakers or objections.

The Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission held the hearing on Tuesday, April 24. According to George Spiliotis, executive officer of the commission, no written objections were submitted either.

“We will prepare the resolution ordering its dissolution,” Spiliotis said.

CSA 60 was formed in December 1968 to construct, operate and maintain a fire station in the Pinyon Pines area. Station 30, on Highway 74, is the result of that effort.

In August 2017, the Riverside County Board of Supervisor’s passed a resolution requesting LAFCO review the need for CSA 60’s continuation. In January, the LAFCO board unanimously approved its dissolution.
