The shutdown of the federal government reaches all the way to Idyllwild. The U.S. Forest Service San Jacinto Ranger District office shut down Tuesday afternoon. Tanner Torrez, left, and Jayden Emerson, below, Hemet High School juniors, led the school’s cross-country team to a third-place finish in Saturday’s Hemet Invitational. Twelve schools entered.
