IFPD Saturday meeting at 10 a.m.

The Idyllwild Fire Protection District has scheduled a special budget workshop for 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan 7. The session will be in the district’s conference room. The meeting was originally set for 8 a.m., but is at 10 a.m. Saturday. The agenda reads “Budget workshop with Commissioners and candidate for interim-Chief position, Ret-Chief Michael Sherman.”

Average rainfall for Idyllwild area so far

The first half of the 2011/2012 rain year ended Saturday, Dec. 31. Idyllwild Fire Department (IFPD) reported 9.85 inches fell in town between July 1, 2011 and Dec. 31. Idyllwild Fire Chief Norm Walker has officially resigned effective Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. “He is voluntarily resigning as of 12-31-2011,” wrote Jeannine Charles-Stigall, president of the Idyllwild Fire Protection District.
