Anza quake felt in Idyllwild

A 2.4 magnitude earthquake shook Idyllwild about 7:15 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29. The epicenter was approximately 6 miles northwest of Anza and 13 miles southeast of Valle Vista. While considered a weak quake, it was clearly heard in Idyllwild and structures shook momentarily.

Idyllwild Water board meetings

Idyllwild Water District plans a special board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, to adopt the new personnel manual. At the 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 board meeting, the board will hold a public hearing on whether to increase directors’ compensation. Both meetings are at the office’s meeting room.

Daughter needs service dog

Melissa Wilson, a teacher at Idyllwild Arts Academy for the past 12 years, has a daughter, Amara, 14, with Type 1 diabetes. Amara has had the disease since age 2-1/2.
