Anyone who has been threatened by this individual should go get a restraining order against him immediately. Then, if/when he violates it by coming within a certain distance, he will be re-arrested. Also, if he has access to firearms, they will be confiscated, probably permanently.

So, if he threatens you with a gun the DA does not have enough evidence to charge him? So, what is it that he has to do to be charged? I sure would like to know.

Gordon was a good pal and the sound of his voice and trusty 12-string will always be remembered. He was about as nice and mellow a person as you will ever meet!

Sorry we didn't get a chance to say goodbye in person, Gordon.

Love,

Get a restraining order. It's a long process but well worth it. You may not be granted the order but it will be on record with the courts and if he ever hassles you again you can go back to court and will most likely get the restraining order against him. This is the only way you'll get him to stop harassing you. And remember, it will be on record with the courts. He's already on record with the Hemet court and if they see that people keep trying to get restraining orders against him that something must be wrong with him and not all of us.

For those of you who have actually been threatened... the best time to apply for a concealed carry permit in "Riverside County" (permits are by County and only good within the County where issued) is when someone is actively threatening you and you feel you and your family are in danger due to these threats. You need to have it on record with Law Enforcement that these threats have been made and also a restraining order helps.

Without an active threat then it is almost impossible to get a concealed carry permit and it is [illegal to open carry in California] thanks to our wonderful legislators in Sacramento. Notice how easy it is for a criminal to obtain a weapon. Ronnie had all his (stolen) weapons confiscated while in Jail the first time. Then gets out and obtains another gun. Gets arrested again for pointing the illegally acquired gun in an individuals face and threatening him and is out on his own recognizance the next day. But, if I were to be in possession of a gun without a license for concealed carry I would be thrown in Jail and prosecuted.

So, apparently it is okay for criminals who are connected and have friends in the DA's office to do whatever they please but for a law abiding citizen we have to jump through numerous hoops, e.g., be threatened or injured, go through a lengthy background check, including finger print scans, interviews with the Sheriffs department and psychologist, three letters of reference, and then pay numerous outrageous processing fee's, etc...

Read for yourself: Riverside County Sheriffs Department: Firearms and requirements for concealed carry, <a href="http://www.riversidesheriff.org/firearms/" rel="nofollow">http://www.riversidesheriff.org/firearms/</a>

It might be a good idea to have agricultural check points set up in the corridors where this firewood could be imported into our mountains, e.g., Hwy 74 @ Valle Vista, Hwy 74 and 371 Junction @ Paradise Corners and Hwy 243 in Banning. There are many different individuals who transport firewood from off the mountain. Need to raise public Awareness to "Not Buy" from anyone who is coming from San Diego County. Even if they are selling other hardwoods they may have sold oak in a previous load and may have infected oak wood and or chips, dirt, etc mixed in with the stuff they are selling. Also, weekenders who may buy a load of wood or even a small bundle in San Diego before they head up the hill. Not sure how well the US Border Patrol checkpoint does at stopping this at Rainbow. But remember, there are no check points from State Route 79 coming from the direction of Julian which connects with other Hwy's in San Diego County. It would be devastating if this disease were to impact out forest. Having three checkpoints would be costly to run but would mitigate a greater future expense of millions of dollars in removal costs as well as the loss to our forest!
