Welcome to the second issue of the new Explore Idyllwild Directory, a semi-annual guide to everything Idyllwild — from a calendar of events, outdoor recreation, art galleries to where to eat.

We want you to enjoy a great experience in our beautiful mountain village — to share in the talents of those who live here and bring delight through such forms as art, music, dance and theater, and more.

Some of the most talented people reside as students at Idyllwild Arts Academy and Summer Programs. And you get to attend nearly every world-class performance for free.

Within Idyllwild, we have three theater companies, professional musicians who mix it up in various combinations to perform at restaurants many days and evenings, and a thriving visual art community.

There is a strong volunteer spirit here evidenced by the many nonprofit organizations and the numerous events they host throughout the year.

Hiking and mountain biking trails, rock climbing and camping just enhance the experience of Idyllwild — one you’ll never forget.

Enjoy!
