IFPD cancels April 9 meeting

Share/BookmarkIdyllwild Fire Chief Patrick Reitz announced that the regularly scheduled commission meeting for April 9 has been canceled. Reitz said the commission did not have enough business to warrant a meeting. The next regular IFPD Commission meeting is scheduled for April 23 at the Fire Station.

Small structure fire Feb. 13

Share/BookmarkSparks spewing from a chimney in Royal Pines prompted a call to 911 around 7:15p.m. Wednesday night. Idyllwild Fire responded to the scene and quickly located the issue. No injuries were reported and the scene was cleared within about a half hour.

Commission finds IFPD budget in good shape for rest of year

After five months of the fiscal year, Idyllwild Fire Department has spent about 47 percent of its projected budget. Total expenditures through November were about $800,000, of which nearly 70 percent ($563,000) was for salaries and benefits.
