Share/BookmarkIdyllwild Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 54000 block of Pine Crest Ave. about 6 p.m., Saturday, March 2. Smoke engulfed the residents, however the fire threat was quickly located and extinguished before serious damage occurred.
Share/BookmarkSparks spewing from a chimney in Royal Pines prompted a call to 911 around 7:15p.m. Wednesday night. Idyllwild Fire responded to the scene and quickly located the issue. No injuries were reported and the scene was cleared within about a half hour.
After five months of the fiscal year, Idyllwild Fire Department has spent about 47 percent of its projected budget. Total expenditures through November were about $800,000, of which nearly 70 percent ($563,000) was for salaries and benefits.
