On Wednesday, July 6, Isaiah Romero, 21, of Hemet, was riding his 2008 blue Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Highway 74, a half mile east of Strawberry Creek Bridge at 7:45 p.m. when, according to the California Highway Patrol report, the sun got in his eyes. He laid the bike down and suffered a fractured wrist and contusions and was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
At 11:05 a.m. Sunday, July 10, Timothy Potter, 22, of Banning, was driving his 2006 silver Honda Civic north on Highway 243, 100 feet south of Mt. Edna Road, when he lost control, crossed over an asphalt turnout, caused his vehicle to strike a metal guardrail, go over the side and overturn. No passengers or other vehicles were involved in the incident. Potter was transported with minor injuries to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
On Monday, July 11, at around 8:40 a.m., Christina Sabo, 43, of Idyllwild, was driving her 2000 black Mercedes south on Highway 243 at Round Robin Drive, when she lost control of the vehicle, and hit bushes and the mountainside. No passengers were in Sabo’s vehicle and no other vehicles were involved. She was cited for driving under the influence, although not for alcohol, and was transported by American Medical Response to San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning complaining of pain.
