Mercy Air lands on Highway 74 Monday night, Dec. 10, and meets American Medical Response to transport Mark Anderson, 60, of Idyllwild to Riverside Regional Medical Center after he crashed his Harley-Davidson.

Karen Rae Levitt, 73, passed away on Dec. 3, 2012, in Stuart, Fla., of congestive heart failure and other complications. She was born on May 27, 1939, in Skokie, Ill., to Harold Jerome “Bing” and Bernice “Bee” Miller

Rhonda Herger of Idyllwild passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. Born on Oct. 16, 1961, she was 51.

The holiday season is here — again and already! Time to “deck the halls” and gather with friends and family. Time to get into spirit of the season and out into the hustle and bustle with everyone else that is getting into the spirit.

Up till the current Town Crier (the Dec. 6 issue), [there’s been] not a whisper nor a whimper about the new assessment by CAL FIRE. To those of us who received this double billing at the time of regular tax notices, it was a jolt.

Reflecting on the recent article advising residents how to challenge the Fire Prevention Fee, I would hope that Hill residents would consider that it is CAL FIRE that has the major responsibility in fighting wildfires.

I must be missing something in the Town Crier article (see the Dec. 6 issue) about the IFPD’s opposition to the State Fire Prevention Fee. That opposition apparently revolves around three points:

Santa is checking his list of animal shelter babies, and he knows who is nice. They all are! Freya, now known as Freda went on a sleepover and never returned. Well, just to visit. She now sports her Christmas harness, and is the love of her human’s life. Guido is now Alfie, and quickly learned the way to melt his human’s hearts. Paws up Alfie. Merry Christmas from ARF to both.
