Motorcyclist injured in Hwy. 243 crash

Rechelle Andrews, 40 of Hemet, lost control of her 2006 Yamaha motorcycle Sunday on Highway 243 near Marion View Drive and clipped the back of an oncoming car. Three injured in early morning traffic collision

Alcohol was a factor in a traffic collision Saturday at around 3 a.m. on Lower Pine Crest in Idyllwild. Three passengers of a 2007 Subaru Forester were transported to local hospitals after the driver, Nathan Dejarnette, 21 of Idyllwild, side-swiped a tree, causing him to lose control and careen down an embankment, running into a carport and hitting the Chevy El Camino parked inside.

Sheriff discusses when to call 9-1-1

The Pine Cove Property Owners Association invited Sgt. Jim Wilson, from the Hemet Sheriff’s station, to the meeting last Saturday. He discussed when to call 911 and when to call dispatch. He described the Neighborhood Watch program, how to set it up and what that means. One point he made was to know your neighbors and communicate with each other.
