Rudolph Karl Zachar, 66, of Idyllwild, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at his home.<\/p>\n
Mr. Zachar was born June 16, 1934, in New York, N.Y. Mr. Zachar served in the military from 1953 to 1957.<\/p>\n
He and Mary, his wife of 45 years, moved to Idyllwild 14 years ago and have been owners of Mile High Country Inn for 13 years.<\/p>\n
Between 1983 and the early 1990s, Mr. Zachar turned his woodworking passion into the Joy of Toys, a toy store featuring Mr. Zachar\u2019s handmade creations.<\/p>\n
He had many other avid interests, including model train collecting, of which he had an extensive collection. <\/p>\n
Lately, he had been remodeling many of the rooms in the inn, learning as he worked.<\/p>\n
He enjoyed domestic travel. The Zachars crisscrossed the United States many times.<\/p>\n
No services are planned and Mr. Zachar\u2019s remains will be scattered at sea off the coast of San Diego County. Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet is handling arrangements.<\/p>\n
Along with his wife, Mr. Zachar is survived by two daughters, Anita Broyles and Audrey Zachar, both of Lakewood; two sons, Christopher Zachar of Orlando, Fla. and Rudy Zachar of San Luis Obispo; a sister, Jacqueline Morrow of Dublin, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
