Citing personal reasons, Town Hall Recreation Manager Amy Righetti resigned her position last week. \u201cIt\u2019s time for me to be a mom again,\u201d she said, noting that she had enjoyed serving but that the time demands had come at the expense of her family. <\/p>\n
Kelly Wills also resigned but could not be reached for comment. CSA Operations Manager Bill Brown said both resignations were submitted for personal reasons and had nothing to do with the county, co-workers, job performance or work issues.<\/p>\n
Brown spoke informally about Idyllwild recreation at the Nov. 8 CSA 36 meeting. Although lack of a quorum prevented the conduct of any CSA business, Brown addressed several issues of interest to the community, on an information only basis. <\/p>\n
He reviewed the last year of county recreation management and noted expansion of programs for adults and children. Brown sought suggestions for off-Hill trips for local adults. Adult trips are for anyone 18 or over. Already scheduled are trips to the Living Desert (Nov. 17) and the Mission Inn\u2019s Christmas celebration in Riverside (the first weekend in December.) <\/p>\n
As to the recent resignations, he said the county would provide staff until permanent replacements could be found for Righetti and Wills. Brown\u2019s preference would be to staff locally, but that some people in Idyllwild \u201ccontinue to make it incredibly hard for locals to work with and for the county in the recreation program,\u201d he noted. <\/p>\n
Brown introduced Terri Bowen, countywide CSA recreation coordinator and Jackie Franks, pre-K coordinator, who will help staff until permanent hires can be found.<\/p>\n
Brown and Bowen stressed they are looking for local instructors willing to teach classes at Town Hall. \u201cTeachers are paid,\u201d said Brown, mentioning organic cooking, mountain biking, hiking and photography as desired classes.
