When I read the letter regarding \u201cNo Brown Act violation\u201d from Calvin Gogerty, the only thing that came to mind was that they obviously didn\u2019t have Brown Act training, or if they did, they didn\u2019t pay attention.<\/p>\n
In my eight years working for a special district, I\u2019ve had the Brown Act training several times. One of the biggest things that is stressed is that it\u2019s the public\u2019s perception of your actions. You may not have discussed business, but you can\u2019t prove it.\u00a0 Your word is not good enough.<\/p>\n
The fact that you would put the Idyllwild Fire Protection District in that position speaks volumes. If you\u2019re going to be on the board and do right by IFPD, then learn your job; learn what you can and cannot do.<\/p>\n
The public is watching and you really don\u2019t need anymore negative publicity.<\/p>\n
