Just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, Cal Fire\/Riverside County firefighters, Palm Springs Fire, California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Sheriff\u2019s Department deputies responded to a report of an adult female hiker with a rattlesnake bite.<\/p>\n
The woman had been hiking on Skyline Trail in Tahquitz Falls west of Palm Springs for several miles when she was bit.<\/p>\n
A CHP helicopter located the patient. A sheriff\u2019s department helicopter hoisted the patient to a nearby landing zone at La Mirada Road near Sunny Dunes Road in Palm Springs where paramedics transported her by ground ambulance to an area hospital with moderate injuries.<\/p>\n
AMR and Cal Fire\/Riverside County firefighters responded to a snake bite victim on Bonita Vista Road in Garner Valley, an incident reported at 2:38 p.m. the same day.<\/p>\n
The victim, described as an elderly female, was transported via ground ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of what appeared to be a rattlesnake bite.<\/p>\n
