Matthew Castillo, 31, of Idyllwild, pleaded guilty to inflicting corporeal injuries and a prior conviction within the past seven years. The plea was made Monday, June 26, following the Riverside County District Attorney\u2019s Office\u2019s submission of an amended complaint.<\/p>\n
Judge Mark Mandio denied probation and sentenced Castillo to two years in state prison. This is considered the low end of the sentence for this crime. Castillo was also sentenced to another year, to be served concurrently.<\/p>\n
He was given credit for serving 89 days in Riverside County jail.<\/p>\n
Castillo has fines to pay, including victim restitution. The defense attorney requested that Castillo serve time at a state fire camp and the judge recommended that he be evaluated for this option.<\/p>\n
According to the original complaint, Castillo inflicted the bodily injury on an anonymous female on May 12. The amended complaint added Castillo\u2019s felony conviction of transportation of a controlled substance in Santa Clara County.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
